Traditional estate planning has focused primarily on the estate tax and probate. This estate planning seminar will discuss the current issues surrounding the estate tax and probate in Ashland, Kentucky, and nationally, but it will also focus on issues that are commonly overlooked but are often critical to leaving a positive legacy, including what happens if you become disabled; asset protection for spouses and children; protecting against long-term care costs, including nursing home expenses; and providing for beneficiaries with special needs. We will talk in particular about the relative advantages and disadvantages of estate planning using wills and revocable living trusts.
