Thanks for taking the time to find out about our connection to the Ashland, Kentucky area. Our area is a truly beautiful, thriving, and historic place to live, and it is part of the bustling Huntington-Ashland-Ironton triad.
We Proudly Serve the Greater Ashland, KY Area
Ashland residents are proud to be part of this metro area, but our town is unique in its own right. The economic viability is part of the appeal, and the parks and outdoor recreation are second to none.
There is also a great deal of culture to drink in, and locals dip into the well with enthusiasm. A major source of pride is the Paramount Arts Center, which was originally a theater built in 1931. The center is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and Ashland residents always look forward to the annual Festival of Trees and Trains that is held at the Center each November.
This festival is quite meaningful, because it is a fundraiser that is held by the Paramount Woman’s Association. Funds that are generated are used to support the Education Department of the Paramount Arts Center.
The Potter Law Firm was founded in Ashland by Pamela H. Potter. She has always been extremely passionate about estate planning, estate administration matters, and elder law issues. As a graduate of the University of Kentucky College of Law, Ms. Potter has a deep connection to the state, and she has furthered that connection throughout her professional career.
She is Immediate Past Chair of the Probate and Trust Law Section of the Kentucky Bar Association, and she was one of the founders of the Kentucky Bar Association Elder Law Section. Clearly, Ms. Potter understands her area of focus, and she has a comprehensive grasp of the laws that are specific to the state of Kentucky.
We Are Here to Help Ashland, Kentucky Residents
The Potter Law Firm is dedicated to people, not paper. We have always treated our clients the way that we would want to be treated, and we endeavor to develop long-term, meaningful connections with people in the Ashland community. In some cases, we have assisted multiple generations, and this is a very profound and rewarding experience.
It can be intimidating to discuss your personal and financial objectives with someone that you have never met. We understand this dynamic, and we have always done everything possible to make our clients feel comfortable. To be honest, this comes naturally, because we are everyday people, and we carry our personal sense of community into our professional lives.
Personalized attention is the key to a well constructed estate plan. Estate planning is not a matter of filling in the blanks on a template, boilerplate form. Behind it all, it there are human beings, and there is the love that family members feel for one another. Family legacies are also part of the equation, including heirlooms and family histories.
If you go to a chain restaurant and they hand you a slice of pie, that’s nice, but it is a far cry from the way that you feel when you smell your grandmother’s pie coming out of the kitchen on Thanksgiving. This is what family is all about, and this is what community means to us.
People who are in all economic groups need to plan ahead for the well-being of their loved ones, and the unique personality of each person on your inheritance list is part of the equation.
Your family is unlike any other, and your estate plan should be constructed to suit your specific needs and objectives. There is no one-size-fits-all estate plan that is right for every family. You should discuss your situation with an attorney that you feel comfortable with, and your plan should be tailor-made to suit you and your family.
We make sure that assets get into the hands of your loved ones efficiently, but we also help families preserve resources. Medicare does not pay for long-term care, and most people will need it eventually. Nursing home costs could absorb everything that you have saved if you don’t take the right steps to protect your assets.
